How are you? Have you had a good weekend or have you started a wonderful new week?
This is just a brief report for I would really like to keep a good connection with you.
On my side, by the good help of a group of friends, after checking more than 10 times, the translations of the poem songs for my new book was finalized on August 31. Since Sept 1, we have entered in the new phase to check the articles maybe the 4th time or 5th times. The music and vocal music practice and record for the book have been started since Sept 4. According to the publishing plan of the publishing house, I should hand in all of the things which I must offer before Oct 1.
Instead of stopping the other jobs at this time, under the good directions of my tutor/professor, every day, I work on the art courses as a candidate for my master degree of Chinese National Academy of Arts, mainly on painting, calligraphy and art theory.
Since July 15, I have painted 55 paintings and complete 18% of my assignments of painting.
I am lucky enough for my tutor / professor Mu Jiaoshan was invited to work in Chinese National Academy of Arts by the Chinese government as a Yangtse River Scholar / Chang Jiang Scholar from USA and he does has the characters as a Chinese professor and a former American professor. So, on the one hand, he is strict so that just on painting, I must complete 300 assignments; I must use 50% of my time on handwriting with Chinese brushes for improving the quality of my lines of painting; I must read some theoretic articles in some field; on the other hand, he is tolerant so that I am free on choosing what I want to paint and how to paint and so on. So, although I feel much pressure on my time and the degree of difficulty and depth of the study, I am really happy for Professor Mu Jiashan has helped me open the gates one by one in the palace of Chinese cultures already. Almost every day, I can see something new and wonderful in Chinese culture while seeing my own weaknesses and leaks in structure of my knowledge.
With this letter, I would just like to show a part of my new paintings in the past 12 days and I really hope to bring you a big smile.
