How are you? I do hope that you have had a good week and you are enjoying a relaxed and easy weekend.
As usual, I went to hospital as soon as I came back Shenzhen. This week, I went to Beijing University Shenzhen Hospital 6 times.
As many friends have known, in China there are too many people everywhere, it is same in a hospital. So, before, when I needed to see a doctor, I took a taxi while I took a thick book with me since I had to prepare to wait for here or there for a long time. Such as:
-- To wait for 40 to 60 minutes to enter the park;
-- To wait for 3 to 5 hours or whole of a day to see a specialist.
For changing this situation and saving my time, this week, before going to the hospital, I recalled what I had seen and felt in the past time, especially, I did a serious investigation after I missed to get the limited numbers of Dr. Liu Yu ( who is a medical specialist, director and she has been in charge of my treatment ) twice at 10:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday. Then I found:
-- In the morning, if I could reach the gate of the hospital before 8:00am, I would be able to enter the park in 3 to 5 minutes.
-- If I need a medical inspection list instead of a diagnosis, I can get it from a young doctor or a specialist. If I choose the former and register for seeing a young doctor, then I will meet him or her in 5 to 20 minutes, I can also have a talk with the doctor for about 20 minutes. If I choose latter, I will have to wait for several hours and I can just talk with a specialist for about 10 minutes.
According to the situation, I changed my work style. Then:
-- Wednesday afternoon, I entered the park in 3 minutes after driving for 15 minutes; I saw a young doctor and a specialist in 2 departments and I got 2 groups of inspection lists, made one of the important checking, sent some sample into some lab within about 1.5 hours.
-- Thursday morning, I had the blood drawing after I left for the hospital for about 30 minutes.
-- Friday morning, I saw a specialist and in the afternoon, I saw another specialist, showed a part of the result of my medical check up to Dr. Liu Yu, got her authoritative diagnosis, treatment plan, prescription and exercise direction; then I did the B-ultrasonic checking in the other department.
During the time, I painted 3 new paintings and my cost of gasolene and parking is 40% of taking a taxi. :- )
I could not help smiling when I drove back home Friday afternoon. I was so happy for the freedom after being tied by a taxi in Beijing and in Shenzhen in the past 1 year. In a good surprise, two big F jumped into my mind:
Flexibility and Freedom
-- Since All Roads Lead to Rome, if we can work with a more Flexible style, we will get more freedom.
-- The more freedom will give us a bigger room to improve our work efficiency and to move our work, career and life forward.
-- Many things can not make progress for a long time, except the elements of circumstance, the inflexible mind, rigid regulation or restriction, maybe something limits us going forward.
-- If we can change our thought and work styles to be more flexibl, to get a same result by trying to see or do a thing with many more or different ways, maybe we would get more freedom and room to create our work in a higher efficiency and live in a more comfortable style?
How do you think of my idea? Do you agree with me? Have you anything special in your life to share?
