The Big Events of A Little Potato - Shirley's 385th Friendly Greeting, Jan 28, 2013

How are you?

It is 2:00am in China now. I have worked on my music and painting for 15 hours, so, now, I would just like to write a short letter to you to share something on my side. I do hope that my effort on painting, music and Chinese culture introduction will bring you a smile. :-)

In the just past week, there were really something important happened in my life.

-- By the good directions, help and support, my second cross-cultural series and the first comprehensive art works -- Together with Me, Learn Chinese Culture and Language by Enjoying Painting, Music and Poetry (1) will be published in English by Jinan University Publishing Press on about April 10, 2013.

-- I am now working on the DVD of the publication and hope to match the effort of the publishing press and complete the work on my side as early as possible.

-- I am also working on a new exploration to combine my painting, Chinese folk song and the story behind them together.

For I wanted to feel that whether the translation is suitable or not for singing, while to improve my own music level and save the work cost,I tried to play the piano and sang the Chinese folk song – A Song of Peony in English and in Chinese; also, I painted a new peony painting with Chinese Mogu style, wrote an article to introduce the move of Red Peony, and the symbolic meaning of peony in Chinese culture. I do hope via this way, to help the un-Chinese speakers learn Chinese culture and language easily and naturally.

Tonight, I am going to send the first test below to you and hope to hear your comments, suggestion and get your help. :-)

As a so lucky person who has gotten so much help from so many good people and the world, I am going to do my best to learn Chinese arts as much as possible, try to help more people while to improve myself every day.

How about you? Do you have anything special to share?

I am just a student on Art of Painting, Music, English and Management, to work on the web site in my free time. I would really like to do a few things with what I have learned to make this little web site to be an Electronic Bridge of Inter-Art & Cross - Culture Exchange, Chinese Language Learning & Friendship Making. To help the others while to improve myself.

I would like to appreciate you for your understanding, directions, supports and help.

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, you are welcome to write to shirley@ebridge.cn or leave your message on Message Board.
