Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! -- Shirley's 119th Friendly Greeting--Sun, Dec 23, 2007

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Even though Christmas is not a Chinese national holiday, there is still strong Christmas breath in China. In many public occasions, we can see the Santa Clauses and Christmas trees. Many clerks are wearing the Christmas caps to work in the supermarkets or restaurants. There is also a big Christmas tree that is around of flowers with colored lights in the hall of the first floor in our office building as usual.

At the most important festival and special holiday time on your side, I would like to send my best wishes from the other side of the Ocean via my own little Christmas and New Year's Card (You can hit the link or the picture right and up to see it while to hear the music with it together). I do wish you and your family, love, friends Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I do wish all of you will make much more successful in the coming year with good luck, health and happiness in the coming year.

Meanwhile, I would also like to appreciate you for your great support, nice help and friendly respond to my learning work on the little web site Shirley’s World in the past year. I do hope in the coming year, I can do little more things for you and all of the friends who have come to the web site, to learn something new, exchange cultures more, making friends and to improve your Chinese and my English, too.

This week, there are many things happened in the company. But, a little thing has touched me indeed. Saturday morning, I went to my office to take a file and I found that one of my computers could not be turned on for an electrical outlet did not work. I mentioned it to a guard when I left from the office building. He wondered whether I needed to find an electrician to fix it. I said "No, I can wait until Monday" for I did not want someone else to work in his /her free time for the little thing since the other electrical outlets still worked in my office. Also, both of the guards and the electricians are the employees of the building management office instead of our company. However, when I entered my office second time Sunday morning, the first thing I found that a new electrical outlet had been on the wall.

I was touched by the little thing and I did feel that a great career can not be completed by one person, no matter what a great talent he or she is. It is certainly completed by many people with a good cooperation together. It is certainly completed by many people who are rather than to work on his/her common work position as some little bolts. Then the career can be pushed forward as a huge machine.

So, I do wish that in the coming year, all of us will keep a harmony, friendship, love and all of the great feelings of human being, to create a peaceful and beautiful world together.

How do you think of my idea? Do you agree with me?
I am just a learner on that art of painting, music, calligraphy, languages and to work on the web site in my free time. I would really like to do a little bit things with what I have learned to make this little web site to be An Electronic Bridge Of Culture Exchange, Friendship and Language Learning. To help the others while to improve myself.

I appreciate your understanding, directions and supports. I do hope to get your friendly help...
