You Reap What You Sow -- Shirley's 134th Friendly Greeting -- Sun, March 30, 2008

How are you? I do hope that you are well, have an easy and relaxed weekend.

In the past 3 months in 2008, except the daily work, I have completed a part of my researching work with 44.000 Chinese characters. Also, I was appointed to lead a project group to edit a new book and it will be published after all of the Chinese listed company's yearly reports have been explored in May.

This is not a new job for me. I had done the similar work as an actual chief editor and a department manager with my team since 1994 to 2000. Every month May, we published a new book as a part work of the newspaper office that we were working in. For the job, we gave up our May Day Holidays for 7 years. Two of my colleagues gave up their marriage vacations. One colleague did not go back to his hometown to accompany his wife when their son was born.

Then, we published the books in Chinese. This time we will publish it in Chinese and in English.

Also, now, I need not to work on all of the things as I did -- to design the book's structures in person, to write their edition general outline in person, to make sure the statistic items and to write or check everything, until to do the final judgment in person. My assistants and former underling have been able to do them well. After working for 5 months, the sample books have been printed already. What I am doing is to give my assistants some working principles, the requirement of the quality and schedule, to help them to organize the other departments to support. The more things that I am thinking is, how to make the same or familiar data to be used on different products or services, to create more economical and social benefit from one job via eating a piece of fish with different styles.

Most of my colleagues and I will need not to work overtime in the May's Day Holiday for the book and it will be printed in time.

As usual, I still keep learning the art of the painting, music and language. A good news is that since last September, my little web site Shirley’s World has been listing on the No. 1 on page 1 by www.google.cn . It is also been listing on No.3 to No.6 on page 1 by www.google.com . But in February, 2007, it was on No. 43 to No.45 on page 5.

My wish to upgrade it on the first 3 pages has been truce exceed my expectation. A deepest feeling in my mind is that “You reap what you sow”. I am thinking that no matter what we are doing, a great career or a little job in the work or life. As long as we keep working on it, we can certainly make our dreams to be true.

How do you think of my opinions? Do you agree with me?
I am just a learner on that art of painting, music, calligraphy, languages and to work on the web site in my free time. I would really like to do a little bit things with what I have learned to make this little web site to be An Electronic Bridge Of Culture Exchange, Friendship and Language Learning. To help the others while to improve myself.

I appreciate your understanding, directions and supports. I do hope to get your friendly help...
