Happy New Year!-- The 20th Friendly Greeting From Shirley, China, Sun, Jan 1, 2006

Happy New Year!

On the first day in 2006, I would really like to thank you for your great help and supports to me and my work in 2005 and I do wish you and your family, friends are happier, healthier and have more smiles in the New Year.

Today, it is also the 13rd anniversary that I entered my current professional fields in the city as my 4th hometown. :-) I have grown up from a person who knew nothing about the new industries to be an expert in some field, from a teacher changed to be manager, from a bachelor degree holder changed to be a doctoral degree holder, published 12 books, designed or final judged over 6000 newspaper pages, got a national highest reward in my industry, created some databases, web sites, information CDs, and creative projects… in my professional filed. Also, I have learned to drive, to paint, to sing, to translate and to work in English, have been to over 10 countries…

Anyway, if you ask me what is my biggest pride in your work and life? Instead of telling you something over, I will tell you the other two things. One of them is that I am one of the builders of the city. I am growing up with the city together. Can you imagine? The average individual GDP and income level in my city is the highest in China and it has only 25 year’s history.

As a formal resident of the city, I have looked at how the city has been changed from a little fishing village with 5 thousand population to be a modern international city with a 10 million population and how people to work for the city. I have made a joke that in the past more than 10 years, I have done the work for about 20 years already. : -)

Maybe you will ask me why? I had come back from the verge of death, when I realized that I was still alive 13 years ago, I did feel that life was so beautiful and be alive was a so wonderful thing. :-) So, I have been trying to do my best to make my life to be more helpful, more meaningful, more beautiful and try to bring the others more smiles and more happiness... :-)

I am really happy that I have gone over a very healthy, positive and optimistic road after experiencing much hard time and I am going to enter a new year with more healthier body, more positive and more optimistic psychology and more smiles with you together. So, in the 4 days' New Year's holiday, I have worked on my web site and started my 4th year's vocal music learning. Tomorrow, I will continue a research report for the company and to design a new picture in my mind -- I gave up an opportunity to publish my 3 pictures in a magazine for I did not satisfied the pictures that I had painted. To learn art and something new will be the thing along with whole of my life... meanwhile, I will have to study some philosophy theories to improve my thinking and world view ways... :-)

How have you started your New Year? What is your plan for the coming New Year?

Note: I have changed the paths, naming forms, recorded and compression software for my voice files. So, if you could not open the voice files in 2005, please try to open them now. I do hope they can work for you in the New Year. Could you please let me know the situation on your side?
I am just a learner on art, music, English and the work on the web site. Anyway, I would really like to do a little bit things with what I have learned to make this little web site to be An Electronic Bridge Of Culture Exchange, Friendship, and Language Learning. During the process to help the others and to improve myself. :-)

I do appreciate your understanding, directions and supports. I do hope to get your great help coutinuously now and in the coming time... :-)

If you would like to publish something about your language and cultures on the web site as 3 of friends did as "Friends' Works" this weekend , if you have any questions, comments and suggestions, please write to shirley@ebridge.cn , or shirleyz004@haoo.com, You are welcomed to publish your opinions in the forum as well.
