Learning, Improvement, Obligation--Shirley's 136th Friendly Greeting -- Sun, April 13, 2008

How are you? I do hope that you are well, have an easy and relaxed weekend.

This week, our company organized a donation and we sent some volunteers to plant trees in Inner Mongolia to block the desert. We have done the job as an obligation of an enterprise citizen for 5 years already. Also this is the second time that we donated a part of our salary to support the others in 2008. The first time was in February and we did that to support the disaster area that was suffering the snowy and the icy. The average donation of the general manager office is about 10 times higher than the others. There was no one forcing us, we just thought that since the society offers us higher salary, we should return it when it needs.

One of the most important things this week is that our magazine office has taken part in the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2008 in Hainai. We went there not only because we are a press unit but also for we are one of the cooperation unites of the Forum as the only magazine office since our new company was found.

I am interested in the themes of the forum: "Green Asia: moving towards win-win through changes". I watched the open ceremony and heard all of the speeches of the country leaders via TV Saturday afternoon.

A deep impression is that more and more countries and the important members of the governments are caring for the earth and want to protect it and the environment. More and more people are thinking how to get along with the nature harmoniously.

During the time, I was also attracted by two country leaders from Australia and Kazakhstan. Wow! What fluent Chinese they were speaking!

I could not help applauding for them. And I suddenly realized that I should work harder on my own little web site Shirley’s World in my free time, to explore a unique running model to show the others Chinese with my own music, painting creations while to make Chinese culture as its background.

So, I went to my English lesson at 8:40am Sunday. I wanted to improve my English level as a tool. I am very glad that the English lesson is helping me to realize so many grammar mistakes that I had been making for a long time. Now, I have had a strong feeling to learn English grammar first time.

How about you? Do you have anything excited in your life or work?
I am just a learner on that art of painting, music, calligraphy, languages and to work on the web site in my free time. I would really like to do a little bit things with what I have learned to make this little web site to be An Electronic Bridge Of Culture Exchange, Friendship and Language Learning. To help the others while to improve myself.

I appreciate your understanding, directions and supports. I do hope to get your friendly help...
