Enthusiasm-- Shirley's US Travel Diary -045 & 205th Friendly Greeting --Wed, July 15, 2009

How are you? Is everything good with you? I do hope that you are doing well and enjoying your new day.

Today is the 287th day that I have been in the US.

Since Monday, we have entered the 10th course -- Management Information System by Dr. Randall S. Sexton. This is one of my favorite lessons. I am interested in it for I started to work in this field since 1993 and it has been a part of my work before I came to the US.

So, when Dr. Randall S. Sexton was talking in the classroom, my mind was reflecting his opinions quickly while I was thinking of something about the management in our company in China. Many times, I felt this lesson seemed like just for me to answer many questions that I had thought for a long time.

Within the first two lectures, I have gotten so much, the most impression was ? Instead of manage departments, management is managing process - Information System is just something to help managers to manage it. During Dr. Randall S. Sexton was talking something about Global E-Business: How Business Us Information System, my mind was reflecting some problems in our company's management and I was thinking how to make our current TPS (transaction processing system), MIS (management information system), DSS(Decision support system) and Executive Support System that are separating in different single department or business process of TV, Web Sites, Magazine and Data systems to be Integrated Together via a more efficient Internet and Extranet system... to make our current E-business and E-Commerce to work on a new and high level… My feeling was so good for I have found much helpful information, I have had much inspiration from the short lectures already...

Meanwhile, I enjoy the work style of Dr. Randall S. Sexton, quickly, tightly; there was no one useless word in the classroom, to deliver the most information within the shortest time... :-)

So, even though we will have 9 quizzes, one presentation and one examination in the coming time, I am confident with myself to complete it with a good achievement. Because, I am interested in it and I enjoy learning it.

In my art learning filed, since I completed my peony painting on Monday, I have been in the strong creating desire and I wished to create out of the pictures that have been in my mind --with a series of "Enthusiasm ? Peonies”that includes at least 10 pictures

So, I got up at 5:00am Wednesday morning and I completed my second peony painting before I went to the university.

After I came back home in the noon, I found, for the time was too tight in the morning, I colored it last time before the colors ahead was dry, so that the leaves’ colors have been mixed together... Then, I found that to mix 4 kinds of red colors on one brush has created a beautiful result, "black color + blue color that is made of mineral substance + blue color that is made of plant" has created a unique result...I was so happy to find all of these...

So, with a huge enthusiasm, I created my third peony before eating my lunch...

Even though I am not satisfy both of the two picures yet, I have push them on the web site. I do hope to hear your opinions and to share the “Enthusiasm ? Peonies” with you together... :-)

Take care and thanks, have a good new day.

I am just a learner on art of painting, music, English and Chinese language, to work on the web site in my free time. I would really like to do a few things with what I have learned to make this little web site to be an Electronic Bridge of Culture Exchange, Chinese Language Learning & Friendship making. To help the others while to improve myself.

I would like to appreciate your understanding, directions, supports and hope to get your friendly direction and help.

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, you are welcome to write to shirley@ebridge.cn or Yiping007@MissouriState.edu, or to publish your opinions in the forum.
