This is my 446
Chinese Xieyi Painting and
my 849th painting since 2003, the 239th assignment of Chinese National Academy of Arts.
Jī ( 鸡 ) ,no matter rooster or chicken, because their Chinese pronunciation is same as the other word Jí ( 吉 ) , means lucky.
So, in China, people often send a painting of rooster or chicken as a gift to wish the people good luck.
With the same idea, I painted this painting in a heavy snow day in my travel in Springfield, MO, USA. I do hope the friends who have seen it will be happy and lucky now and in the new year.
Since I have not painted for a long time, I felt that my hands a little bit rusty. However, when I finished it, my heart was so happy because this has the third painting since Dec 2, since I had my new painting board in my travel. :-)
How do you think of this painting? Do you like it?
