This is my 34th Chinese Mogu Painting which is half Mogu style and half Gongbi Painting style and also my 791st painting since 2003. Also, it is my 186th assignment in Chinese National Academy of Arts.
May 5, 2012, I painted this Chinese rose from nature with pen in the garden near the school.
This week, Feb 14 to Feb 22, as soon as I had time, I worked on it and painted it as a Chinese Mogu Painting.
I wished to express the meaning of a famous line from a lyric by Zhang Xian in Song Dynastry (960 - 1279): 云破月来花弄影 Yun Po Yue Lai Huo Nong Yin -- The Moon is Breaking the Clouds and the Flowers Are Playing With Their Own Shadows...
Do you know how I did the background of this painting? Water of the Chinese Tea, except I felt that the color of tea is stable, also I wished the painting has the smell of the Puer Tea, even though you will not be able to smell it after it is decorated. :-)
I do not satisfy it yet, I will try to paint it when I have time. Also, I will think of painting it with Chinese Gongbi style some day. :-)
