This is my 507
Chinese Xieyi Painting and
my 931st painting since 2003, the 339th assignment of Chinese National Academy of Arts.
After my classmates and the tutors came back from the lesson of painting from the nature in Taihang Mountains, we were asked to create some pictures using the materials that we had collected from the nature.
I did not go to the Taihang Mountains, but, I have been keeping painting from the nature, even though I was in my travel in Australia.
According to what I had seen and painted in the garden I was lived in Australia, I created a series pictures.
This is one of them that I created in a Chinese Painting Party that I had founded since Nov 15, 2014.
In the lesson Nov 15, 2014, Professor Man Weiqi who is the Associate Dean of Chinese School at China Central Academy of Arts told us, the best method to improve our painting skill is to take part in the Chinese Painting Party -- A group of artists paint together on the public occasion within a limited time. Then, in the evening, I mentioned to a classmate Mr. Man Xinjian who often paints in the classroom to found a Daily Chinese Painting Party, and he quite admired my idea.
Then, both of us started the job first time.
Since then, every evening, at 8:45p.m. - 9:45p.m. a group of students come to our classroom to create a picture and them to comment the pictures each other.
For making the Chinese Painting Party to live for along time, I made some rules and they are working well:
1) Every one must paint a picture on a piece of paper that can not be less than 68cm x 68cm (26.77inches x 26.77inches ) or 36.00cm x 138.00cm ( 14.17 inches x 54.33 inches)within 1 hour; if anyone does not finish it at the end time, must stop. If any one completes it, starts another one.
2) Do not allow draft with pencil, but paint with brush on the paper directly.
3) Do not allow to see any data, but paint on the white paper;
4) Every one must comment the others' pictures, to point out of the good or bad places.
The purpose is: To improve our ability of creating quickly; to reach the level to be able to create a good picture as soon as we take up a brush at any time and in any place within the shortest time.
Since Nov 15 to Nov 22, 17 schoolmates and 40 person-times joined us at the different time.
This is the 10th picture and below is the 13th one that I created at the Daily Chinese Painting Party. :- )
Obversly, many places need to be improved. But I did enjoy the process to create a picture at the Paitning Party.
How do you think of the two pictures? Do you enjoy which one?
