LISTEN TO THE TEXTLISTEN TO SHIRLEY PLAY & SING THE POEM Hi, friends, today, I would like to introduce a new Chinese classical poem
Cai Lian Qu -- The Song of Picking Water Lily by Tang Dynasty poet Zhangzhao.
I chose this poem for you because it relates four different views that a group of girls experienced during the course of a single day in four simple lines.
As you can see from this poem, the sun was red when the girls set out from the sandbank in the morning; then black clouds gathered over the river in the evening. Luckily their neighbor, a girl, knew how to deal with this situation and the water lily boat did not fear the wind... Then they came back from the river singing...
I have written a new piece of music, and I have played and sung it for you. I really hope that my effort on this poem is of some help to you to in improving your Chinese language level.
Days ago, I introduced another
Song of Picking Water lily by Tang Dynasty poet Wang Changling, I hope each of them can inform the other and help you to know more about China and Chinese culture.
