Emperor Wen of Han (202 B.C. –157 B.C) was the fifth emperor of the Han Dynasty (206 BC to 221). His given name was Liu Heng, He was famous except his outstanding achievement on governing China, but also for his filial piety and be kind to his mother.
Emperor Wen of Han’s birth mother -- Queen Mother Bo was often sick. For about 3 years, he looked after his mother in person, often he went to sleep with his clothes and did not close his eyes for whole of the night. He would always taste the medicine for his mother at the first, to see whether it was too hot or too bitter, then to offer his mother.
During he was the emperor of the Han Dynasty for 24 years, he paid more attention to govern the country with the benevolent rule style, encouraged the etiquette, developed the agriculture, made the social stable, had a flourishing population, economy was recovered and developed very well. The times of He and Emperor Jing of Han was just the famous “文景之治: Wen jing Zhi Zhi - the Rule of Wen and Jing” of Han Dynasty
