This is my 770th
Chinese Xieyi Painting and
my 1322nd painting since 2003and My 606th assignment and 198th painting in the study of the second phase as a candidate of Degree of Master of Fine Arts of Chinese National Academy of Arts.
I created this paintings for my father. At the first, I wished to paint a landscape with only Chinese ink, however, when I thought that he is 93 years old, maybe I should paint something with red color for showing luckier for him in the new year, so, I did. But I did not very satisfy it yet, so, I painted another painting with yellow color on the second night.
How do you think of this painting? Do you enjoy it?
When I mentioned the two new paintings, there is a good news and ideas I would like to share with you:
-- I wanted to create a painting with flowers and landscape when I was practicing a Chinese art song about a flower at the 65th time. At once, I took up my brush and created a painting while humming the song. Then at the time I sang the song about the 70th time, I created the second one. and I thought maybe I should create a series with the colors of red, orange, yellow, green, black, blue and violet? :- )
-- Since I have been thinking of creating my own cross-culture and comprehensive art with poetry, painting and music, why didn’t I think of creating my own combined arts with landscape and flower and bird painting together? Instead of just following the arrangement of the school to work in a single field of the 3 kinds of paintings: flower and bird painting, landscape or figure painting.
-- I have been pursue the specialty of my paintings and wanted to put too many cultural elements inside, so that the paintings I created for Chinese class poems may be complex to impossible to teach native English speakers to paint it while singing it and reciting it, and I had to make the art course and poetry course in two different courses with different content, instead of working on them at the same time.
So, I am thinking, it I can create my paintings for the Chinese classical poems a little bit simpler, maybe it will help me to improve my teaching more efficiently?
-- I have been having distressing myself about the situation that I had majored in Chinese flower and bird paintings for 5 years in the art colleges, now I am majoring in landscape with only Chinese ink, both of them sound like something parallel, so, I am worrying about what I had learned on flower and bird may become something wasted? Right now, it seems like I have found a way to combine them and created my own style?
-- I have some new inspiration from music learning: it should be a spiritual activity advanced more than painting, so, in my cross-culture and comprehensive art dream, the relationship of them may be: Music, Poetry, Painting. Therefore, when I work with native English speakers, the work order should be: Painting, Music and Poetry.
-- I have had a new feeling of “Freedom” when I painted while singing and worked on both of painting and music at the same time. To paint according to what I had seen and felt in my mind from my songs, have brought me a quite enjoyable emotion at the same time.
Since I have paid most attention to the painting for I thought that my cross-cultural and comprehensive art should be based on it, so I have stayed/would stay in the art collages and major in Chinese painting for 9 years (2010 to 2019), but ignored music studying for a long time – just keeping practicing voice for 30 minutes each day and had lessons too less.
As soon as I realized it, I adjusted my time on music practicing. Then I got the unexpected gain, to work on both of them at the same time…
This way, not only resolve the problem I have no time enough to work on so many things, but also, it has offered me some new created idea. About this, I need to think much more. However, I mean sure, it will certainly bring me a overflying on my art study and help my dissertation. Do you think so?
