This is an Encaustic on Wood by Mrs. Kat Allie -- Chair of Department Chair of Fine Arts of Humanities and Manager of Art Gallery of Ozarks Technique Community College.
I met Mrs. Kat Allie in Springfield, MO, USA on Oct 5 or 6, 2013. That day, I called her in the car of my classmate Mr. Zhujun according to a telephone list by a casual opportunity.
If I say that I was impressed on her friendly style to meet me as a foreign art student and gave me an opportunity to meet her in her office, what has been touching me was her foresight and with kind of artistic sensitivity as a manager and an artist and would like to be my sponsor to organize a cross-culture and comprehensive art exhibition for me and gave me the opportunities to make demonstrations or to teachings at their art gallery and college.
Just because of the opportunities her gave me, I could to create, study and think for more time in the USA 2013 to 2014. In the process, no matter the outline of my little cross-culture and comprehensive art project was getting much clearer and mature inches by inches. Even just there, I made my 10-year's plan 2015 to 2025
Base on the first cooperation of us in her college, we are thinking of doing something together, to share something excellent in respective cultures and to help more people in the world.
So, as soon as I saw her new works, I would like to share it with my about 12,000 registered readers from more than 30 countries while introduce it to China.
After all, as she said that was an " Encaustic on wood (I make my own paint with beeswax damar resin and oil paint. This is an ancient painting medium dating back over 2000 years)." I checked much data about what she told me and I know right now, there are seldom people work on this kind of paintings in current China yet. So now, I put her works on my little web site and hope the ancient skill that she had mastered to be shared by more people in the world and in China.
How do you think of this painting? I do hope you enjoy it and bring you a big smile.
If you are an artist and would like to share your own art works with my readers and Chinese people, you are welcome to connect me and I will be happy to put your art works on my own web site or you can upload your art works by yourself after my new web site on line in the near future. Is that a good idea with you? :-)
