This is my 20th Chinese Gongbi Painting. In fact it should be called Gong and Xie -- I mean that I created it with Chinese Gongbi and Chinese Xieyi the two ways together. To paint the below part with Chinese Gongbi style according to a draft, and I painted the over part -- the mountains part without a draft, but to paint them with my brushes directly as I paint a Chinese Xieyi picture.
Since I completed
my 19th Chinese Gongbi picture last weekend, I had been thinking to re-paint it for I did not think that I had dealt with everything on this picture as same as I had thought in my mind. So, now I have completed it for almost all of my free time this week.
I have changed its background. I also paid more attention to wash my brushes and often changed my water -- When I color a Chinese Gongbi picture, I have to take 2 brushes. One is for color, the other is for water. Paint a brush with color, to push the color to somewhere suitable with another brush with water. So, it asks the water in a very clean.
So, now, I feel that my flowers are much cleaner than them on No. 19 and also the background seems like better.
This is the third time that I painted a picture on a silk, the feeling is totally different from painting on a piece of paper. So, I have tried to attach the silk on my easel as I do when I painted my gouache picture, to keep the silk is even.
I am thinking that maybe next time I should color it on the pencil draft, then to make the ink line as the last process because I do feel that after I color my picture, the line that I did before the color has been lighter... Also, I do not satisfy the leaves yet. I will try some way new to color it better next time.
Now this picture is in the hands of a my friend in Canada. How do you think of my new testing? Do you enjoy this picture?
