This is my 202th
Chinese Xieyi Painting and it is
one of my 362nd pictures since 2003, the first picture that I have created in 2009 and the 5th painting in the US.
Today, is the 2nd day that the university was closed for the heavy snow and ice weather, our lesson has been moved on Friday. After completing my homework on the new lesson, I started to paint this picture at 9:00pm and completed it in 4 hours.
When I am writing this note, I can not believe my eyes indeed. I have not painted for 67 days since Nov 22, 2008 already. So, I suddenly feel some sadness come into my original happy emotion. .
I am happy that finally I have a heart to paint since I had past the most difficult time for about 2 months in the US. I am sad for I have not painted for so long time. Can you imagine, instead of dreaming of a sunk cost dropped on my nose as I did during I was working on my financial management lesson. This morning, I opened my eyes from a dream that I was creating a new picture with water lily and fishes with Chinese Gongbi style… Since I have no time and no heart to paint a Chinese Gongbi painting yet, tonight I created this picture with Chinese Xieyi painting. Anyway, I have felt that my hand lacked practice tonight and I did not do a good job on the birds…
The comfort is that I have really started already and my new apartment offers me a basic condition to paint, so I cut my paper as big as it desk, with a length 100cm… Even though I could not work as I did in China and I was worrying that I will no any white color soon… After all, I have not stopped my work…
I am going to re-plan my time and try to paint every day, even though it will be very small…a bird or a flower. The most importance is that I can not stop indeed… I must keep a creative mind and skilled hands…
How do you think of this picture? Do you like it?
