This is my 208th
Chinese Xieyi Painting and it is
one of my 378th pictures since 2003, the 8th picture that I have created in 2009 and the 10th painting in the US.
Can you imagine how I wanted to paint? On the second night of my Spring Holiday, after writing to my bosses, singing for my past American art and music teacher, I painted almost whole of the night. When I cleaned my sitting room, I just found that I had used 22 pieces of paper and my legs were so tied and felt aching. :-)
I wanted to paint a wide bamboo with my brush directly one-off, but I did not know how to do that. So, I tried and tried, until I could do that. Anyway, I could not paint the leaves good with my brush directly well yet.
My Chinese art teacher commented my paintings and told me that my problem is:
1) There was too much water on my brush, lack the contrast/comparison between the wet and dry.
2) The strength of my brush is not enough, the dynamic feeling is not enough.
3) The structure should be more daintily. :-)
So, the first one was given 90 marks, the other were given 85 and 80. I know that my teacher wanted to encourage me to work continuously. I also know that the road to paint a bamboo will be kept for whole of my life. It seems like to paint a bamboo is more difficult than to paint a flower. So, I will try to work on it as soon as I can.
How do you think of my paintings? Do you like them?
