This is my 255th
Chinese Xieyi Painting and
my 476th painting since 2003. Also, it is the 5th (22nd) painting that I have created (practised ) in 2010.
Even though I created 3 paintings of Chinese Wisteria in my art lesson and after the lesson, I did not think that my mind was very clear on the details of the plant. So, I checked the data of it on the Internet, and I went to the biggest art book store to buy book on it.
Anyway, the biggest gain that I got from the art book store was not the books that I had gotten on Chinese Wisteria. The most excited thing was that I found some DVD by an artist that I have been finding for a long time. I had read some art textbooks by the artist when I was in the US. I have been wishing to read more and to know more detail to paint. I was so happy when I found it so that I stood by the bookshelf to look at it from the beginning until the end.
Then I bought 24 art books, 14 Chinese painting brushers and some color. As soon as I reached at home, I looked the data once more. Then an idea jumped into my mind, to create some new Chinese Wisteria and my own Peonies together.
So, next morning, I got up at about 5:00am and I created this new painting before I went to my office. Then in the night, I created the second one.
This is the first time that I created a peony painting with Chinese Xieyi style after I came back from the US. The feeling was so comfortable when I was painting on it... :-)
The other strong feeling is that except the regular art lesson weekly, I do need more directions. Before I retire from my work in the company, reading and thinking maybe is the best method to improve myself?
Compare with
my last peonies by Chinese Xieyi Style in the US in 2009 , do you think that I have made any progress?
