Mary M., my best vocal music teacher. She has taught me to sing for 4 year since Nov 24,2002.
There is a story that I funnd her as my teacher. After my old brother was dead, I gave up some of my business and slowed my steps to think of the meaning of life while to do something to make my childhoods dreams to be true. So I wanted to find vocal music teacher via a local newspaper. When I called her according to an advertisement. As soon as she knew that I am an adult, she said I love my music and I teach vocal music as my career, I have no time to accompany a wealthy wife to spend time. :-) After I heard this, I did feel that I have found a right one. I answered her with a big smile, I am not a wealthy wife who has nothing to do, I am very busy, but, I want to pursue a dream from my childhood After pasting her test, she accepted me to be her student.
In the past 4 year, we did not cancel any class unless especial situation. No matter how heavy rain or wind, she kept coming to offer me a lesson after sitting or standing on a bus for a half hour. For making her convenient, I wanted to drive to her home, but, sometimes, I was lazy to go. So, she said that she must come to offer me a lesson, otherwise, I would not keep for a long time. So, in the past 4 years, every Saturday evening, she offered me a lesson instead of accompanied her husband at home, sometimes, both of them came together, after my lesson, then to do their weekend actions...
How luck that I have a so responsible good teacher, then, I can keep until now...
Ms. Mary M. is very serious on her teaching. She prepares some special lesson for me according to my age and she records my singing in the lesson for researching my problem after the lesson. Can you guess out my age when you hear my singing now?
In the early time that I started to learn to sing, She asked me to carry up the piano, to keep a piece of pignuts under my tongue while I was singing, to make me to feel how I should breathe and how to use my mouth... From her lesson, I started to know that music is like any the other business, it needs us to work hard on both of the theory and practice. Can you imagine? I had learned to sing my first song that only 16 words for one month... every word, every ton, every action must be correct and standard... every time, my T-shirt was very wet...:-)
Ms. Mary M. is a very friendly and thoughtful woman. If she knew that I have not had my dinner, she would certainly take a box of food for me with her... During the teaching and learning, both of us have become the best friends, she is now my dear "young sister" and best vocal music teacher.
I do wish both of Ms. Mary M. and her husband happy and health forever...
