Mr. Charlie C. is one of my best Hong Kong cooperators, friends and English teachers
Maybe you feel surprised why Shirley used a same title to write Mr. Charlie C. and Mr. Su? Because both of them are best friends and most of times, they helped me together. :-)
I knew Mr. Charlie C. later than Mr. Su, because he came back from the U.S. with his doctor degree later then Mr. Su as well.
Mr. Charlie C. is a northern person with a very good personality. A bright smile can be seen very often on his face. :-)
Mr. Charlie C. worked very hard in his professional field and very fast, he became a director in his university in Hong Kong. But, as a good friend and like a kind "elder brother", he always does his best to help me.
Can you imagine? In 2001 spring, on the most important Chinese holiday -- Spring Festival, for helping me to edit and translate my series of 4 books, he asked his wife -- a professional translator to check my draft and he and his wife checked and corrected many of my works in the later 2 years.
Mr. Charlie C. is a very responsible person on anything he does. I remember clear, before my books was sent to the publish house. I sent my foreword that had been checked and corrected by my American cooperators to him and let him to check the part that I had introduced about him. When the foreword was sent to me, almost all of the paper was changed to be red by Mr. Charlie C. Wow! My God! I told to myself and called Mr. Charlie C. and told him that the forward had been changed ok by some native English speakers, whether I could keep the original one? He did not agree with me and he said so much about American English, habits, grammars and so on... Even though I could not understand all of things he mentioned, I respected his opinions and try to do something to make both of sides of the people in Hong Kong and America balance... :-) Can you imagine? The cooperators in America also agreed with Mr. Charlie C. :-)
Until now, I still remember the tone and of Mr. Charlie C. 's over the telephone. I am deep impression about his serious and careful work attitude as a scholar. From him, I do learn so much how we should to work in our professional field.
Many times, if Mr. Su has no time, it will certainly be Mr. C. to help me on this or that thing, no matter in the professional field or as a friend. :-)
This is Mr. Charlie C. -- one of my Best cooperators, friends, English teachers in Hong Kong.
I do wish Mr. Charlie C. and his wife and children happy and healthy, and successful more and more on career.
