This is a very famous Inner Mongolia folk song. It is also a typical Chinese love song.

In this song, there is no any word to mention about love and the girl calls his lover 鈥 Brother鈥. This is a typical Chinese culture phenomenon that in many places, people call their lovers even husbands and wives 鈥渂rothers鈥 or 鈥渟ister鈥.

I had learned it first time in Nov, 2005, and 2007 in my music lesson. When I learned and recorded first time, my teacher had to help me and to accompany me to sing together for I could not sing the high tone part. Then I learned to sing it in 2007 but I could not it in English yet.

Today, in the US, I tried to re-translate it and I tried to sing it in English first time. Even though I spend for about 6 hours on the 2 minutes song, I am so happy for I could sing it in both of English and Chinese.

The most importance is that before I sang it in English, I checked every word in my dictionary to correct my pronunciation. For me, to write, sing, record in English on my little web site is a way to help the others while to improve myself.

It is a specila way to improve my English level. The more I sing in English, the more I catch from CNN.

I really hope you enjoy it and will be some help to you to learn Chinese culture and language.

MAIN MEANING OF THE SONG

The moon in the mid-month has risen in the sky,
Why are there no clouds around of it?
I am waiting for a beautiful girl,
Why have you not come to me yet?

If there wasn't the rain from the sky,
crab apple flowers would not bloom.
As long as brother you wait for patiently,
The girl in your heart will run to you...
