 LISTEN TO SHIRLEY SINGING THE SONG
 My vocal music teacher is still away visiting her parents so my piano teacher came last night to accompany me singing this song. As an immigrant city, people are used to going back home to visit their families during holiday times. Our main holidays are, May Day holiday, National Day together with the October Holiday and New Year's Day with the Spring Festival and these are 1 or 2 weeks long...
Do you know why I chose a popular song to sing? My vocal music teacher does not teach me these sort of songs, so, when she comes back, she will not be able to give me too many bad comments -- just a joke :-)
Sometimes, Im really a little scared of her because she is so serious in teaching me to sing Chinese art songs or folk songs. :-) Often my lessons will last for 2 or 3 hours ... :-)
This is a song from a Chinese movie A Fragrant Heart as A Blade of Grass , but the song is much more popular than the movie itself.
I do enjoy the lyrics of this song because it expresses a very positive attitude towards life which is very similar to mine...
For the last 4 years or so I have seldom sung without the direction of my vocal music teacher, so hope my singing is not too bad...
