LISTEN TO SHIRLEY SINGING THE SONG
I have been enjoying this song since my university times, for its beautiful lyrics and tone. :-) Every time, when I heard it, I felt it was admiring our teachers to give themselves to their students with their lives to train us to grow up... Also when I heard it, I could see a beautiful fairy with some beautiful long dress in my mind to sprinkle the silver snow on the land to dress up the human world...
(Then, in Feb, 2006, I created a similar picture to admire a water lily girl as a fairy with a similar thought)
But then, I did not think that I would sing it someday in person for I really felt its tone was too high to sing for me. :-) Until Nov, 2002 I started to learn vocal music lesson. :-)
Then, in May, 2005, I made my first record of Chinese folk song that was just this song ? I Love You, the Snow in the North of the Great Wall.. But then, I could only record its first part within about 2 hours. :-)
Anyway, that was the first time that I translated a Chinese lyrics into English and tried to sing it... :-)
Now, 1 year and 8 months has past and tonight, I asked my teacher to direct me to re-record whole of the song in my vocal music lesson. :-)
This time, we made our work to be done quickly and I did feel comfortable to sing... :-)
However, the microphone has some problem so that the sound too low. :-)
Anyway, I do hope that what I have worked on the web site will be a little bit help to you to know Chinese culture and to help you to improve your listening ability of Chinese language... :-)
MAIN MEANING OF THIS LULLABY LISTEN TO SHIRLEY SINGING THE SONG
I love you, the snow in the North of the Great Wall. Flying and dancing, all over the air and wilderness.
Your figure is so lightness, Your heart is so pure and clean. You are a sister of the spring rain , You are the angel who's sent by the spring, angel by the spring.
I love you, the snow in the North of the Great Wall. Flying and dancing, all over the air and wilderness.
You are dressing up the world with silver color with your body as the white jade, You have made your life melt into the land, to moisten the wheat seeding to be green, to help the flowers and leaves to face the spring,
ah, ah, I love you,
ah,ah, the snow in the North of the Great Wall, the snow in the North of the Great Wall.
