LISTEN TO THE TEXTLISTEN TO SHIRLEY PLAY & SING THE POEM

It is shame that I have not updated this column for 3 weeks. Anyway, now I have come back... This weekend, I would like to introduce you a new Chinese classical poem Ting Zhu -- Bamboo by Tang Dynasty poem Liu Yuxi.

In China's culture, bamboo is something that is liked and often be admired by people. We admire it for its tall and straight, just like a gentleman with a fair quality; for its heart is empty, just like a person who is always with a modest way to learn from the others; also for it is easy to live anywhere and grow up well...

This is a poem to express an ideal via to admire a bamboo. I enjoyed it poem as soon as I read it, so, I have created a piece of music to match it. I really hope that you enjoy my comments about this poem, my music and singing...
