Hi,Dear Friends
How are you? Have you had a good weekend?
Today is Chinese New Year’s Day. According to Chinese customs, I would like to say “ Happy Chinese New Year!” to you.
This is the 3 rd Chinese New Years’ Day I have spent in the USA. Except for making phone calls to my family members who are in Australia and in China, I have had a good rest for I had had a very special and a little bit tired week.
-- My 6 th cross-cultural and comprehensive art exhibition has started at the Art Gallery of Ozarks Technical Community College. It will be lasted from Feb 5 to 29, 2016 and a reception was held at 5:00pm to 9:00pm on Friday, Feb 5.
Chair Kat Allie of Fine Arts and Humanities Department and Manager of Fine Art Gallery of OTC held this reception, Dean Lance Renner and Provost Steven Bishop of OTC attended it. The pity was that I had been treating and talking with the audiences so that I missed the opportunities to take photos with them together.
Anyway, I was happy for many audiences coming in the reception and the art exhibition, so that I had been talking or singing since 5:00pm to 9:10pm. It is for about 6 months I had not worn in any high heel shoes for I have been walking since I arrived in the USA August 20, so, Friday evening, after working in my high heel shoes which is about 10cm ( 3.93inches) for 4 hours, plus walking from my home to the art gallery for about 20 minutes, really I felt myself awful! :- )
-- Instead of fall semester, 2016, my course will be started at OTC from spring semester, 2017. When Mrs. Kat Allie told me the opinion of the Dean, I did feel very well, because I will go out of the English examination room in Beijing on May 28, 2016, and the Fall semester of OTC in the USA will be started on August 14, time will be too tight for me indeed. So, now, I will have another 10 months to prepare the course. What a cool thing it is! :- )
Anyway, I will have to plan my time seriously, for I will not only work on prepare the new course, but also I will complete my second book/ DVD of Poetry, Painting, Music – Comprehensive and Artistic Chinese series, create my American Cultural Map series with Chinese Painting Style. The most importance is, I must pass the national/graduated English examination and prepare to write dissertation to explain my art dream on theory.
--After working and studying in Sydney, Australia for 14 years, my son and his girlfriend are thinking of getting marry someday. :- ) I was so happy when he told me about it on the cell phone. I am thinking to go to Australia in the Christmas, 2016 or to see them in China or in America. :- )
With so many appreciations to the God and so many kind people who were sent to help me at some special time on my road of dream seeking, I have written many letters to my former professors, tutors and friends who had helped me in the past 7 years in the USA, and hope to have a short and courtesy visiting before I leave for China. Not for asking anything from them, but just for saying Hello and Thank you face to face.
How about you? Do you have anything special to share in the past a week?
