Hi,Dear Friends
Happy Chinese New Year! Happy Spring Festival!
Today is Eve of Chinese New Year and tomorrow is Chinese New Year -- Spring Festival. It is the most important and most formal Chinese festival. For helping you to know something more about it, I made this special Mail for you and hope to bring you a big smile. :-)
After much hard work for 3 years, our new company that was re-combined by two companies made a big progress in 2005. Every one got some bonus according to his/her achievement. People who are listed on the middle can get the bonus that is about 2 months' salary. The bigger achievement, the more bonus. :-)
Maybe you will ask how about Shirley. Here is a part of work that I did in 2005 and let you guess, ok?. :-) I have been formally informed that a project that I had taken part in with my group from 2002 to 2005 got the first glass Award of Science and Technology Progress in the city. Two projects that I led in 2005 filled the business blanks for the company... :-)
Instead of going to visit my family inland and in Australia, I want to have a quiet holiday for 10 days, to paint one or two Gouache or Chinese Gongbi paintings while to order my thoughts and life after a hard working year at home. :-) Do you know that Wednesday night, after the last work in the company, I ate my dinner at 10:30pm and the similar things had last for 7 weeks during my project entered the test phase between Dec, 2004 to Jan, 2005. It was was a quite common thing to work until 1:00 or 2:00am for me then. :- )
Since I entered the new city,I have been working as mountain climbing, one duty had not been finished totally, the other one has come so that I had no time to see that how I have reached the mountaintop. : -) So that some managers gave me a comment in a summary in company -- if someone follows Shirley to work, she/hed better a single. Otherwise, it is difficult to follow my speed and the work intensity. However, they can grow up on professional and management level quickly. :- )
So, I am thinking of changing this situation.
In the past two days, except working on my web site and going shopping. I sent some gifts to my parents, my niece and sister in law. I am so happy that my parents have past their golden marriage and 80 years old birthday with a very healthy body and psychology in Oct, when I went back home. Now they can read and write daily still. A fun thing that they will take part in a Men Qiu(Ball) Game as the oldest couple in their city. :-)
Almost every day, I give them a greeting telephone. I am really happy that my young brother and his wife have offered the best looking after to my parents. Except a good live circumstance with wider rooms, they also drive them to play Men Ball, to go fishing, to play Chinese chess, each thing twice for a week. :-) I am so happy for my parents and I am really appreciating and be pride of my young brother and sister in law...
How about your parents and your brothers or sisters? Do young people look after their parents in your culture?

Chinese Xieyi--063(Flower & Bird): The Last Picture Before Spring Festival
First time, I learned to paint wisteria and I completed it within 2 hours according to my teachers requirement on Thursday evening in my art lesson. I did enjoy purple and like to "play" colors. :-) Do you think that purple is very artistic? Do you believe someone said that purple means dream? Anyway, I have changed all of my painting tools to be chinaware except brushers and colors for entering a New Year. I am thinking after learning Gouache, Chinese Xieyi, and Gongbi paintings, maybe I should start to try to learn old since I had bought all of tools for oil learning 2 years ago?
