A Pleasant Surprise-- Shirley's 87th Friendly Greeting--Sun, April 29,2007

Hi,Dear Friends
How are you? Have you had a good week? I do hope you are well and have a relaxed Weekend.
Tuesday morning, I was appointed as a chief - liaison officer and chief-coordinator of our company to work on a cooperation project with a company from a Western country.
This project has been prepared for about 1 year. Right now, it will be really started. A group of our cooperators will come to China after May Day Holiday, to help us to improve our level of business, technology and management and so on.
As soon as I accepted this work, I worked for about 18 hours on the first day and my work has entered a new busy phase once more.
However I am busy with many smiles. For I have felt the biggest trust from both of our company and the other company from the other side of the Ocean. On the second day, after I have completed the first part of our duties, the general manager of our company said, to give this duty to you, I will be in reassurance. Friday night, the CEO of our cooperated company called me in person via an international telephone to thank me and to express their confidence to our company and the admiration to my work.
The other good surprise is that the liaison officer from our cooperator asked me whether I was major English, since I can communicate in English with a good way and their CEO also asked me, whether I had been studying in a Western country, since I can express my meaning in English so clear.
I know they were encouraging me and my English is not good enough and there are many grammar and vocabulary mistakes in my English as well. I still feel happy with much lovely surprise for my so many years English self-studying has finally gotten a good result. A strong feeling is that anything no matter how small it is, as long as we keep working on it for a long time, then, we can really create a wonder along with time... I am really happy for the newly found cooperation and I will remember my own weakness and I cherish the good opportunity to learn something new and being advanced from my cooperators.
I will face my work with more smiles, even when I thought I will have to work in my May Day holiday once more.
What is your thought about learning a foreign language or doing anything else? Do you agree with my opinions?

Shirley Created Art -- Chinese Xieyi 0134:Mountain & Champaign:
I created this picture in my art lesson Thursday night and it is the 5th part of My Long Scroll. This part and the 4th part is the background of the first 3 parts for making the two parts have some distance feeling. My teacher thought that I did a good job and gave me 90 marks. Anyway, now the picture is already (4,34 meters)? length, it was not easy to attach it on my wall to take a picture as usual. So that I have made it to be broken for a big crack. Wow! What a pity it is. So, from now, I will not take any picture for the whole of the scroll by myself, until I have completed it and I will take it out and attach it on some building, then to take a picture for it. How do you see this picture? Do you enjoy it?

Shirly Sung China Folk/Popular Song--053: Qinghai-Tibet Plateau
I was smiling while I was working on my music on the little web site Saturday night. I re-learned the song The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau That I Had Learned to Sing 7 Months Ago. At that time, I could not sing the first two sentences for it is too high. It was sung by my vocal teacher. Also then we had to record it one paragraph by another one, for I could not keep singing the two paragraphs together. But, Saturday night, I did not feel difficult to sing the first sentences and to complete the whole of the song once. My teacher was so happy for she felt a big successful feeling. Are you happy for my progress?

Chinese Classical Poem --0084 (By Xu Hun) & Shirley Created Music-0074:Xie Ting Songbie -- Sending-off by Xie Storied Building
How do you express your feelings when you see someone off? I enjoy this poem for it has combined music, colors, landscapes and characters together. To create a beautiful view with an artistic language -- In a send-off song, a friend of the poet was sailing on a boat over a river between the green mountains with red leaves, seeing his friend was going far away, while drinking and he was getting sleepy unconsciously. He woke up at the nightfall time and could not see his friend again. He had to go down the storied building in rain and wind. I have created a piece of music to match it, to play it and to sing it.. I have also written calligraphy for it, and I hope you enjoy them and it is helpful to you to learn Chinese language.
