Willow is one of the beautiful plants in the spring season. So, it is something to be admired by the artists of language, painting and music and so on.
The poem Yong Liu -- Ode to a Willow by Tang Dynasty Poet He Zhizhang is just one of the best works.
This poem has not only written out of the characteristic of the willow, just like a graceful girl who is dressed in the bright green long dress, sounds like so lightsome, beautiful in the light spring breeze, but also, it expressed what the spring breeze like by writing the willow and the willow leaves naturally and skillfully, created the most famous two lines: Bu zhi xiye shui zai chu, er yue chunfeng si jiandao -- I do not know who has tailored the slime leaves, it is the spring wind in February, it is just like a pair of scissors", with the simple language, created out a wonderful artistic conception.
I have created a piece of music in 2005, a painting for this poem in 2007. This week, June, 2013, I tried to re-paint the picture, re-translated the poem.
I will also re-write this article and re-do the record of the singings and the new words, and hope to improve my work and to help you to learn Chinese culture and langauge...
Here, I would like to thank Mr. Mike Joyce from Britain for he corrected my translation in 2012.
