China is a poetical country, almost every cultured family, teaches their children to recite classical poems as soon as they can speak.
Because the least element of Chinese language is Chinese character, and most of the characters were created in the ancient time. So, to read and to recite Chinese classical poem is one of the best ways to learn Chinese characters and Chinese language.
So, today, I would like to introduce a very popular Chinese classical poem E - in English is Goose/Geese.
This poem was written by Mr. Luo Binwang -- a poet who lived in the early Tang Dynasty (618907). Can you imagine? When he wrote this poem, he was only 7 years old. :-)
This poem to see and to sing the geese from a child's angle, very simple but full of the childlike fun. Therefore, it is very popular in China. Many Chinese children can recite it before they enter the elementary schools.
Since it was written by a poet who was 7 years old, many parents hope their children will be also talent as Luo Binwang, so, it is also the first poem that many Chinese children have touched.
I had translated and introduced it first time in April, 2005. Created a music to match it in Oct, 2006.
Last weekend, in August, 2011, I re-translated it by the good help from some friends who are native English speakers. This week, I have also painted a new painting to match it and re-sang it for you.
I do hope that my effort will be some help with you to learn Chinese language and culture.
MAIN MEANING OF THE POEM
