Title: Gouache--0097: Let's Hug The Green |
Artist: Shirley Zhang |
Size: 66cm x 53cm |
Completed Time: Sat, Sep 17, 2005 |
Remarks: This is my 97th Gouache. I drafted it 2 weeks ago and colored it with Chinese Gong Bi style 1 week ago. This week, I worked on it for about 25 hours with Gouache style. When I colored it, I tried to use the Chinese Gongbi style and left some lines on the leaves, but, it was difficult to deal with the white lines that I left in a suitable colors as I imagined, because most of Chinese Painting colors that I used are transparent, but Gouache colors are not. So, I was failing, and you can see the lines on the leaves are strange now. :-) Anyway, I enjoyed trying and playing the colors. :-) I had tried to mix Chinese colors and gouache colors together, of course, I was failing as well. : - ) I was smiling when I found that I forgot the Gouache colors are not transparent. Also, I colored 2 of my flowers with green, I do enjoy using a same colors to created different leaves. Maybe next time, I will paint all of the flowers are green. :-) Do you enjoy my idea? Do you like this Gouache painting or the same painting with Chinese Gong Bei style ( Chinese Gong Bi No.10) ?
Notes: This painting was collected in the US, 2006. (Shirley Noted It Feb 19, 2010) |
