Artist: Shirley Yiping Zhang
Size: 150.00cm x 40.00cm ( 59.05 inches x 15.47 inches)
Completed Time: August 12, 2013
Remarks:
This is my 439th Chinese Xieyi Painting and my 839th painting since 2003, the 229th assignment in Chinese National Academy of Arts.

The Chinese idiom 锦上添花 Jin Shang Tian Hua -- add flowers to embroidery means to make what is good still better.

In Chinese traditional painting, people usually paint a golden pheasant (its Chinese name is Jin Ji, Jin's pronunciation is same as the embroidery) plus flowers together to express the same meaning. To bless the person who has gotten this paining (Jin Ji + Hua -- Golden Pheasant + Flower) Jin Shang Tian Hua -- wishes his/her career or life or health or everything already good better. :-)

Therefore you can often see the paintings of golden pheasant(s) and flowers together to express the lucky meaning. :-)

I have painted many this kind of painting already. This is just one of them and also it is one of my favorite paintings that I have painted. :-)

How do you think of this painting, do you enjoy it?

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, welcome to write to shirley@ebridge.cn,you can also publish your opinions on Message Board . :-)
