Remarks: This is my 420th Chinese Xieyi Painting and my 766th painting since 2003, the 165th assignment in Chinese National Academy of Arts.
I started to paint landscape as soon as I completed my long scroll on Nov 3, 2012. It has been for 4 weeks now.
Anyway, since last weekend, I re-started to paint flower and bird painting because I would not like to be out of practice. Therefore, this weekend, I painted this painting.
Yesterday evening, Nov 8, 2012 when I completed the bird and the flowers in the classroom, the extramly cold drove me back home, then I went to the classroom twice today, to complete it.
I felt so happy when I looked at my new bird because I did feel that I have found the method to use the light or strong Chinese ink -- the practice of landscape helped me on using different Chinese ink indeed...
Then this is the first time I painted a cypress, to, spent much time, I checked it on the Internet to know clear about its characteristics and sharp.
How do you think of this painting? Do you think that I have made some progress?
