Title: Shirley Created Art -- Chinese Xieyi -- 0165: Peony -02 |
Artist: Shirley Zhang |
Size: 35cm x 53cm |
Completed Time: Thursday, May 14, 2008 |
Remarks: This is my 166th Chinese Xieyi Painting that I painted in My Art Lesson. Also, it is my 331st painting since 2003, the 24th painting that I have painted in 2008.
I did not realize that I have learned to paint for 5 years and 2 months since March, 2003. In the last 5 years, except having a traveling, I did not stop to paint for one week, even though when my teacher could not offer me a lesson.
Thursday night, I had my first art lesson since May Day holiday. My teacher was very glad to see my last two paintings and thought that I have made some new progress. Also, he pointed out some problems in my paintings.
My Gouache --0127: Mountains was given 90 marks for the left mountains’ colors were used good, but, I did not push the view far away via colors yet. I mean the far away part should be lighter. With my teacher’s words, color’s lays are not enough.
My Gouache -- 0128: Sunrise was given 85 marks for the same problem and for the color was too bright. :-)
In stead of making a note on a notebook as I did, I note down these problems on the web site as a lesson and I will pay more attention to correct them and to improve my painting skill.
My teacher thought that I should paint more peonies and plum blossom since they are China's "national flowers" and be enjoyed by most of people. :-) So, my homework is that to paint a peony painting each day with Chinese Xieyi style in the coming 3 months. Even though someday I am going to take part in a studying in the other country, I should not stop. Otherwise, my hands would lack practice and skill, just like the piano practice.
I do appreciate my art teacher for his 5 years teaching and I will try to do my best to complete my homework no matter where I am.
This painting was given 90 marks for the bud has a little bit problems. :-)
How do you think of my new paintings, do you enjoy them? If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, welcome to write to shirley@ebridge.cn, you can also publish your opinions in Forum . :-)
