Title: Shirley Created Art -- Chinese Xieyi -- 0116: Spring Flowers |
Artist: Shirley Zhang |
Size: 70cm x 70cm |
Completed Time: Tuesday, Jan 16, 2007 |
Remarks: This is my 116th Chinese Xieyi -- Freehand Brushworks Painting that I created Tuesday night.
There was a composition of the picture in my mind last Friday, but, I had no time to paint it. So, I started it at my lunch time Tuesday noon for about 40 minutes. Then, in the night, I worked on it for about 5.5 hours, and I completed it at about 0:00. :-)
This is the 4th time that I created my Chinese Xieyi Painting totally alone. I mean my first 113 Chinese Xie paintings were created and painted in my art lessons and my teacher was just by me and to direct me and to tell me here or there how to pain. But, the last 3 pictures were completed by myself 100%. :-)
My 114th Chinese Xieyi Painting: Good Morning
My 115th Chinese Xieyi Painting: Happy Autumn
My 116th Chinese Xieyi Painting: Spring Flowers
So, Wednesday evening, in my art lesson, my teacher was so happy with a big surprise and thought that these paintings was a symbol that my painting level has entered a new phase. My Chinese painting level has made me entering the level to be a professional artist. :-)
Anyway, my teacher also pointed many problems that I have to pay more attention to correct and improve. For example, on this picture, the tail of one bird is too long. The left part of the picture should add some branches of the peonies to echo the same flowers on right part. My technique of drawing seems a little bit childlike still; the titles of my painting do not seem like poetic yet... :-)
I do agree with these opinions and I would really like to do practice as many as possible...
Do you enjoy this picture? What is your thought about it?
