I didn鈥檛 know how to colour the character using gouache so I tried to colour it in the style of Chinese Freehand Brushwork鈥� :-) I learned how to paint the character from the book 鈥淗ow to Paint Chinese Gongbei Characters鈥� by Wang Meifang, but I completely changed the background and made some changes to the character too. I would like to find a way to combine Chinese and Western styles of painting鈥�. :-)
