Title: Chinese Xieyi(Flower & Bird) 097: Eagle Practice No.2 |
Artist: Shirley Zhang |
Size: 66cm x 66cm |
Completed Time: Wednesday, September 22, 2006 |
Remarks: This is my 97th Chinese Xieyi -- Freehand Brushworks that I painted in my art lesson on Wednesday. Also it is my second time that I learned to paint an eagle.
I have painted hundreds of little birds already, but, I just started to paint a so big bird with a brush with colors directly -- a Chinese Xieyi picture does not allow make a draft with a pencil at the first., people must paint with a brush directly, that is why, Chinese Xieyi painting is the highest peak of Chinese traditional art.
If we paint one brush is wrong, whole of the picture will be destroyed ...:-)
My teacher did not only ask me to paint an eagle, bus also some bamboo. Wow! Both of them are something most difficult for me. Anyway, my teacher thought that is just the reason I should make practice as much as possible and thought that I could complete them. So, I had to try to do my best.
My teacher thought that the left wing of the eagle is too near to the tail, both of the wings are not be parted enough; the tail is too wide, the foot is too big; the bamboo's leaves are too bad, the two big characters of calligraphy is not good... :-) Anyway, the stone is wonderful, the head and the neck of the eagle are good, the leg is wonderful, the bamboo's poles are well and the small character of calligraphy is cool... :-)
Anyway, I was just given 65 marks :-) It is really too less, but it has had a little bit progress than the first eagle already. :-)
How do you think of this picture? Do you like this eagle? Do you like its big foot? : -)
