Artist: Shirley Zhang
Size:
Completed Time: March 22, 2011
Remarks:
This is my 22nd Chinese Mogu Painting and my 585th painting since 2003. Also, it is my 66th assignment in China Central Academy of Fine Arts.

You cannot imagine how I appreciate Mr. Zhang Gong, who is a young but quite knowledgeable instructor of Chinese Painting School of CAFA. His three lessons in the first week that I just came back CAFA from Australia not only opened a window for me to learn a new and the magnificent Chinese Mogu painting, the most important is, it has guided me to know one of the greatest artists in the Chinese painting history -- Mr. Ren Bonian. Since then, I have read a lot of papers and books about him, include the papers by Mr. Xu Beihong and Mr. Pan Tiansou.

One hand, this kind of studies and researches has firmed my confidence to explore in the field of flower and birds. The other hand, I have really found that Mr. Ren Bonian is a quite completed artist. He has not only made the highest achievement on portrait, flower and bird painting field in his times, meanwhile, his landscape painting is good, too.

So, the more I read something by him or relates to him, the more I feel it is worth to buy the data about him as much as possible. Therefore, except the collected edition, I have also bought his selected works and anything else I have found and seen about him.

I am trying to find the clue upward and downward from him and I would really like to make sure a clear clue of the Chinese paintings in the art history. :-)

With a respected heart, this week, I painted 3 new Chinese Mogu paintings. This is the first one.

How do you think of this painting? Do you enjoy it?
