Title: Prof. Liu Wanming - Associate Dean of Chinese School at Chinese National Academy of Arts Gave Us a Lecture, Nov 20, 2014

Completed Time: Nov 20, 2014
Remarks:
Nov 20, 2014, Professor Liu Wanming - Associate Dean of Chinese School at Chinese National Academy of Arts gave us a lecture on how to improve our own Literature Artistic Accomplishment.

My deepest impression on his lecture was: A true artist must be clean inside.

Anyone who has a normal mind, he or she can master the basic skills of Chinese painting’s technology in case she or he can paint for several years. But, that does not mean he / she can be a true artist.

Why?

What can decide a person’s art achievement not be the technology itself, but something behind of the painting, a comprehensive and artistic culture, the moral quality, and the comprehensive level on philosophy, poetry, calligraphy, theory of painting and calligraphy and so on…

With this idea, we should not go to the dirty places and we should not touch the dirty things, but we should go into the nature, to feel and to touch those clean and beautiful things from the nature, become a pure, clean and honest person at the first, then we can create something clean, beautiful, helpful and meaningful...

Meanwhile, he asked us to learn classical philosophy, poetry, calligraphy; to learn the ancient theory of painting and calligraphy, to improve our technology.

This is the 3 rd time I attended his lesson. I have really felt that each time I got something different.
