This is my 3rd Chinese landscape painting that I created totally independently. I mean that my teacher did not see me to paint it as I did in my art lesson.
Landscape painting is one of the three kinds of Chinese paintings (Landscape, Figure Painting - Portrait, Flower and Bird Painting), I had painted a few ones in 2003 with Gouache when I just learned to paint. :-) Then, I painted a lot of flowers and bird with Gouache and much more with Chinese Xieyi and several feature paintings with Chinese Gongbi style as well. :-)
It is for a long time, I was not interested in Chinese landscape painting and thought that should belong the man artists. Until October, 2006, I came back from Zhang Jia Jie, I just started to be interested in it and I started to buy some art books of landscape. But, until recently, I just really started to create a landscape painting alonly. :-)
Anyway, maybe for I have painted too many birds, I have had a habit to paint a bird as soon as I paint, I wanted to paint a bird, even though on a landscape painting. :-)
I thought of and imagined my new picture in my mind last Monday night and I started to create it and completed it on Wednesday night. :-) And I could not help to paint two birds on my red leaves. :-) I wanted them to speak each other "See, what a beautiful read leaves in the mountains in the later autumn!" to match the meaning of a classical poemShan Xing -- Traveling in A Mountain by Tang Dynasty poet Du Mu . However, after I had completed it already. I just realized that I should paint the maple leaves on the painting instead of the general red leaves as I had done according to the meaning of this poem. :-) Maybe, someday, when I am in the emotion, I will re-paint it with some maple leaves on it? :-)
My teacher thought that I had done a good work, so, I had 85 marks. :-)
How do you think of this picture? Do you enjoy it?
