I created this painting on Sep 2, 2007 for matching a poem by a famous poet Chen Shen in Tang Dynasty (618-907).
This poem described the landscapes in the Northwest of China. It is a long poem with 18 lines. Its first 4 lines are the most famous for it has not only written a beautiful scenery after a snow in the August -- just like a spring breeze came blowing last night, so that thousands and thousands pear trees are in blossom, but also, it has expressed the quite positive and optimistic life attitude.
Therefore, I enjoyed it very much and tried to express a positive and delight breath via creating a painting, a piece of music and writing a comment about it in Sep 2, 2007.
Anyway, then, I had no the ability to sing it in English yet. So, after studying, thinking and exploration for many years, on Dec 29, 2011, I re-translated it, re-wrote the music and re-played, sang and recorded it in English and in Chinese.
Later, I will re-write the comments and re-record the Chinese characters and the comment.
I do hope that my effort will be some help with you to learn Chinese culture and language.
Main Meaning of the Poem :
White Snow Song
By Chen Shen ( Tang )
The north wind rolls & breaks the white grass Snow is flying in Hu in August, Like the spring breeze came blowing last night, Suddenly ten thousand pear trees are in blossom.
