Title: Shirley Created Combined Art -- 002: Chrysanthemum
Artist: Shirley Zhang
Size: 89cm x 67cm
Completed Time: Thursday, July 21, 2007
Remarks:
The more thinking about the combination of Chinese painting, music, calligraphy and poem comments, the more clearing the working model in my mind.

So, today, I have opened a new column on the web site to contain my new creation according to my new thoughts.

I would like to express the meaning of a Chinese classical poem that was written by Tang Dynasty poet Yuan Zhen with my painting creation, music creation, calligraphy and the culture of flowers in China to be combine together to offer you a completed "products" to enjoy your eyes, hairs, heart and mind... :-)

As a single picture, I thought and designed it for two nights, then, I created it with my brushes and colors directly. :-)

The more paint Chinese Xieyi -- Freehand brushworks, the more I like to create painting with this way. :-) Now I wanted to train myself to have the ability to create a picture with a brush directly, no matter how completed a picture. :-) I know it is not easy, but, I want to learn and to try... :-)

This is the most detailed Chinese Xieyi painting that I created. My teacher thought my detail and the ability to create a picture with brush directly instead of making any draft with a pencil at the first could make me get 80 marks. But the other place have not been good yet.

Yes, I agree with my teacher for my poem has not been put on the suitable place and also the mountains look like too clean... :-)

But the happiest thing in my heart is that I have created a way of my own to paint a chrysanthemum. Have you seen the small chrysanthemums? They were created by me with some colored brushes quickly. :-)

How do you think of this picture? Do you enjoy this picture?
