Title: Shirley Created Art -- Chinese Xieyi 0127: Harvest |
Artist: Shirley Zhang |
Size: 67cm x 67cm |
Completed Time: Thursday, March 7, 2007 |
Remarks: This is my 127th Chinese Xieyi -- Freehand Brushworks Painting that I created in my art lesson Wednesday evening and also it is the second time that I learned to paint grapes. :-)
My teacher thought that my painting lines and the color using is good, the problem is the compotation of a picture is not good enough, so, wanted to train my ability to design with a better and more comfortable style.
When I was painting, there are two pictures in my mind. One is the real grapes in the real life; the other is a picture of grape that I had seen on the wall of a restaurant. And I paid more attention to the colors and the grapes themselves and I did not really spend more energy on the composition of a picture, so that my teacher thought I did a good job on the grapes, but, did not do a good job on the composition of a picture yet. Lacking some rooms among the grapes, lack some place to "Breathe".
Anyway, my teacher still thought that I had done a good job; I was give 80 Market and I was asked to save this picture for some exhibition some day in the future.
How do you think of this picture? Do you enjoy it?
