Title: Chinese Xieyi-- 082(Flower and Bird):What Are You Thinking? |
Artist: Shirley Zhang |
Size: 45cm x 67cm |
Completed Time: Wed, June 28, 2006 |
Remarks: This is my 82nd Chinese Xieyi -- Freehand Brushworks that I created in my art lesson.
After learning to paint landscape painting for a while, I started to think of making it to be my flower and bird picture's background and make the flower and bird painting has a bigger artistic background ? I have been thinking why a landscape painting can has deeper meaning and can give people much more imagine room? Maybe for it is able to give people a bigger and deeper room in a small size and a Chinese Gongbi picture is pay more attention its detail. It seems more like a feature. Then, if we can combine both of them together, then, maybe can make latter goes into a much more meaning artistic environment?
So, I am thinking to make my Chinese Xieyi painting in my art lesson to be a color composition of a picture ? a color draft for my Chinese Gongbi or Gouache painting? So, I have been trying to do that since my teacher did not be against me and thought that is a good idea.
My teacher thought this is a good picture that was completed in the short lesson time and also said that my teacher thought that I have a strong creative ability. Anyway, he pointed that I should not color the flower twice because Chinese Xieyi picture does not allow us to paint a picture with a draft, and also does not allow us to color something repeat. Anything we want to paint, must be completed once with brushes directly.
Meanwhile, I realized that maybe for I did not wash the brusher cleaning or the water a little bit dirty. so, I do not think that my flowers are bright enough. Also, I should not paint the claws of my birds with red color. My leaves should not in the too similar colors. I should make them in different group and gave them different colors.
How do you think of this picture? Do you enjoy it?
